Do you suffer from Insomnia? We can help!

Insomnia is a sleep disturbance characterized by a difficulty in falling asleep or maintaining sleep latency for the desired period. This is a disturbance which deeply affects our organism, both physically and emotionally.

To which symptoms shall we pay attention?

Anxiety about going to sleep, headaches, forgetting things frequently, irritability, mood swings, lack of creativity, lack of focus, body tension (and, sometimes, in the jaw), digestive disturbances, waking up during the night, once or more times, daily somnolence, difficulty in falling asleep, and having an immediate feeling of tiredness when you wake up.

There are two types of insomnia:

Relative insomnia – when we have trouble falling asleep or maintaining a deep and repairing sleep. This kind of insomnia is directly related with anxiety and stress;

Absolute insomnia – when we don’t sleep for a long period or we are not able to fall asleep at the beginning of the night. This insomnia is more related to panic attacks and traumatic events, causing our mind to resist sleep.

So, what can you do if you suffer from insomnia?
The first thing to do is not to despair. The anxiety to fall asleep only causes more insomnia. And how can you control anxiety? Through exercises directed to falling asleep and the adoption of sleep routines.
